Mie Kim Ceramic Studio

Wonderful studio! I’ve taken 3 six-week wheel throwing courses and had the pleasure of learning from Alena and Nhu. I appreciated both of these instructors so much and feel I’ve benefited equally from their different approaches to teaching. With so much to learn as a novice, I find a balance between emphasizing technique and allowing room for experimentation is really important and these instructors gave me that balance. Now I just have to keep practicing for 1000 more years before I feel any good at it… haha! Jokes aside, I highly recommend this studio for learning the basics and beyond, alongside competent and talented artists, not to mention with a beautiful view of Mie’s stunning works in progress.

Perfect place to get started with ceramics. I took two 6 week courses with Nhu, who is super kind and a wonderful teacher. Now I am taking an open studio with Alena. All staff and fellow students have been very welcoming. Overall, great space to learn and experiment with ceramics :)

I had so much fun taking the beginner wheel throwing course at Mie’s studio. So much so that I took a second course to further develop my skills. Nhu was a great instructor! She is knowledgeable, fun and helpful, and most importantly patient. The studio is clean & bright and a really pleasant setting altogether. I would highly recommend the course to anyone!

I have taken two classes with Mie and really enjoyed her patient and artistic guidance. She always encouraged me to keep going despite my struggles with the wheel. The result were my own creations which I proudly enjoy day to day. On top I got to be in an artist studio surrounded by stunning ceramics.

I had the pleasure of following 2 sessions at Mie’s wonderful pottery studio and it was a fantastic experience! I was lucky to be taught by Mie who is clearly very passionate about her craft. She was an absolute joy to work with; her artistic touch and attention to detail were extremely inspiring.The studio itself is great, with everything you could possibly need to create your own pottery pieces. The space is very roomy, making it easy to work on projects without feeling cramped or confined.Overall, I would highly recommend Mie’s pottery studio to anyone who is interested in exploring their creative side. With a talented teacher, great facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, this studio is the perfect place to learn and grow!I am so grateful for Mie's studio; I can’t wait for my next session :)

We had a private introduction pottery class. It was an amazing experience as our instructor was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient with us. After one month, I went to pick up the final products for our group and was pleasantly surprised to find all of the ceramics well wrapped individually in a sturdy bag for transport. The final product has a very nice finish that I like very much. I had another class at another studio and definitely prefer my experience at Mie Kim Studio better!

I've taken two wheel throwing classes at the studio so far (and will be definitely taking the hand building class in the fall). Nhu was an amazing instructor, she thought me great technique but also gave insightful feedback on my progress and encouragement when I was doubting myself.

I’ve had the privilege of being taught by and assisting Mie Kim over the past 3 years. She creates a warm learning environment and gives students autonomy while adjusting to their needs. Her own work is obviously stunning and I love offering her pieces to friends and family— they truly feel special. I feel lucky to have learned and work alongside such a talented artist.

I received a pottery class at Mie Kim as a Christmas gift, and didn't know what to make of it... until i sat and tried it out. Our teacher Nhu was so sweet and pleasant, and the class was full of fun people. We ended up with new skills, nice pottery and new friends. My wife and I are looking forward to doing it all again. Highly recommended!
